Here you will find a downloadable copy of our draft Regional BME Housing Strategy, which we developed during 2002/2003, with the assistance of our consultants, Bob Blackaby and Raj Patel.

We have also included a copy of the tender specification which we used to procure the consultants.

During 2003/04 we employed PS Consultants to undertake some research into the housing experiences of the black and ethnic minority communities in North Wales and to make recommendations on changes to the Draft Strategy. The final version of the strategy was launched on the 23rd of April 2004 and the copy is available below for downloading. We are also making available the research findings of PS Consultants by making their final report available for downloading below.

Whilst the Strategy has now been finalised, it will be reviewed annually and therefore we would still welcome comments on the Strategy. Once you have read the Strategy please use the facilities on the next page (click here to go to “YOUR VIEWS”). Thank you.

Final Version of Regional Black and Minority Ethnic Housing Strategy
This strategy, and the race equality plan that accompanies it, represent the first important step taken by our newly constituted body to promote racial equality in housing in North Wales. It is intended that the strategy will be the start of, and will provide a framework for, a series of joint initiatives to place race equality firmly on housing associations’ agenda in the region.
